Personal Training for Adults 40+, 50+ and 60+ in San Diego
Chris Keith Personal Training helps San Diego adults over 40 build strength, protect their joints and stay active for decades to come. Chris has over 30 years of personal training in San Diego and trains each client 1-on-1 in a private 6,000 square foot facility. Programs are built around your body, your history and your goals, whether you are 42 or 72.
Why strength matters more after 40
Adults lose muscle every decade after about age 30 unless they train for it. Less muscle means weaker bones, poorer balance and a slower metabolism. The right strength program reverses much of that and helps you stay independent and active.
What training looks like
- Strength training with safe, gradual progression to build muscle and bone.
- Balance and coordination work to prevent falls.
- Mobility and flexibility to ease stiff joints and move without pain.
- Joint-friendly conditioning for heart health, without pounding.
- Training around old injuries, arthritis and joint replacements.
Real results
- Demetrios, 50s: quit smoking and built a healthy lifestyle he has maintained, over 12 months of training.
- Jesslyn, 42: a healthier, well-balanced life and new muscle definition in 9 weeks.
- Dennis M.: has trained with Chris for more than 10 years and says he is “in the best shape I’ve been since I was a much younger man.”

FAQ
Is it safe to start strength training after 50 or 60? Yes, for most people, and it’s one of the best things you can do for your health. Chris starts with an assessment and progresses gradually. If you have a heart condition or other medical concerns, get your doctor’s clearance first.
Am I too old to start? No. Adults in their 60s, 70s and beyond gain strength with the right program. Chris adjusts every exercise to your current ability.
Do you work with arthritis or joint replacements? Yes. Chris regularly trains clients with arthritis and knee or hip replacements, choosing exercises that strengthen the muscles around the joint without aggravating it.
How often should I train? Two to three sessions a week builds strength steadily and leaves time to recover.
How long until I see results? Most clients feel stronger and steadier within 4 to 6 weeks. Visible changes in muscle and body composition usually take 8 to 12 weeks.
How much does it cost? One-hour 1-on-1 sessions are $350 for a single session. Packages lower the price: $250 per session for 10 sessions, down to $125 per session for 100 sessions. The first consultation is free.
Where are you located? The private training facility is at 5260 Riley Street, San Diego, CA 92110, near Morena and Bay Park, with street parking.
